PSL 2023 Draft Rules: Pakistan Super League will commence on the 9th of February 2023 in different cities of Pakistan. The draft of HBL PSL will take place on the 18th of November, 2022.
So the Pick orders for teams have been shared by PCB. So now the trade window is also opened, and franchises have to finalize their retentions before getting into the draft of PSL 2023.
PSL 2023 Draft Rules
Here ill explain some basic rules of the HBL PSL 2023 draft. Let’s start them one by one.
01. Retentions
Every team can maximum retain 8 players in different categories. It is the choice of which players they want to retain, and others will be released and available in drafts.
02. Mentor
One condition for the team mentor is that the player is retired or did not play an international match for one year. By making a mentor, the category of the player will be degraded, and the franchise will have to pay more money to that player. The franchise is bound to announce the mentor, and he should be retained.
03. Ambassador
Ambassador is the same as a mentor, but there are no restrictions on selecting one. The team can make any player ambassador, so his category will be downgraded, and the franchise has to pay more money to him. Local or international players can be an ambassador. This the main PSL 2023 Draft Rules
04. Wild Card
A wild card is an option the team uses when they think they need a low-category player in their squad and their pick is late in the order. so they use the wild card and pick that player in the upper category.
05. RTM
RTM stands for the right to match; every franchise can use it during the draft. If a player who played the previous season in the franchise is picked by others this time, so his previous franchise has the right to pick him back in the squad. In return, that team will get picked there, and franchises who use RTM will pay some fee to that team.
